Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Appliance Checkup ("we") collects when you use appliancecheckup.com, and your choices.

Information you enter in our tools

The serial number, model number, prices and other details you type into our tools are processed in your browser. We don't store them and we don't send them to our servers.

Recall checks: if the site's own copy of the recall data can't be loaded, your browser sends the appliance category to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's public API (saferproducts.gov) to fetch recall notices, and does the matching locally. CPSC's own privacy policy applies to that request.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools are useful (for example, how many people complete a check). Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and events like "tool completed". We don't send the numbers you type into tools to Google Analytics.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland see analytics only after accepting cookies. Elsewhere, analytics are on by default and you can turn them off with "Cookie settings" in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser.

Advertising

We don't show ads yet. If we add them, we'll update this policy first, use a certified consent tool where the law requires one, and add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link for U.S. state privacy laws.

Email

If you email us, we use your message only to reply and to fix any error you report. We don't sell or share it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to processing. Contact [email protected]. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
